CN Charred Wood Tiny Tray

This 7" long decorative charred wood tray by Christian Nyberg is a small but striking object, rich in detail and presence. Its organic, slightly asymmetrical form is hand-carved and shaped through a slow-burning process where hardwood embers are placed directly onto the wood to create a natural depression. The piece is then scraped and re-fired, allowing the flame to shape its final contours. The deep black finish reveals subtle grain patterns and surface variation, while a single brass dot adds a refined touch of contrast. Ideal for holding small items like rings, a pair of cufflinks or a single air plant or tiny succulent, —yet sculptural enough to stand alone as a minimalist art piece.
